Tekno-Sining: Ang Likhang Sining sa Panahon ng Reproduksyong Digital

Theme

Even the most perfect reproduction of a work of art is lacking in one element:

its presence in time and space, its unique existence at the place where it happens to be.

– Walter Benjamin

This congress seeks to engage in a conversation about the relationship between art and technology, and to foster the innovation of art with technology.  In the twenty-first century, the convergence of art, culture, media, design, science and technology has introduced altered ways of perceiving realities. It has ushered in the constructs of new and mixed forms of art through various tools and platforms. What is “art” in the age of digital technology, media convergence and simulacra? How do art and creative expression intersect with technology? How does art reflect on the impact of technology in our daily lives? Is humanity enhanced and augmented through the technology of art? How shall we draw the boundaries between human creation and virtual reality? How does technology enable the spectators to experience an enjoyment of art?
